As the 2026 college football season creeps closer, the classes for the 2027 cycle are shaping up to be finalized. LSU football hopes to add a few more highly-touted recruits to a class that experienced highs and lows over the last several months.

According to Rivals' Industry Rankings, LSU's class ranks No. 10 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC. Head coach Lane Kiffin has 16 commitments, seven of which hail from Louisiana. Five-star tight end and Ruston native Ahmad Hudson headlines the group, which includes 12 blue-chip recruits.

LSU remains in the mix for five-stars Easton Royal and Jalen Brewster. Even if one of them flips to the Tigers, the class could shoot up into the top five by the fall. Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Florida and Texas are ahead of them.

The Tigers' class is balanced across both sides of the football. Four-star quarterback Peyton Houston as well as four-star running backs Tre Segarra and Trey Martin lead the offense. They also have three defensive backs and two four-star edge rushers in Chris Whitehead and KJ Green.
