Whit Weeks injury update: LSU star leaves game vs Texas A&M, in crutches, boot

LSU football took a hit to its defense with linebacker Whit Weeks suffering an apparent ankle injury against Texas A&M on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Weeks, one of the Tigers' best players and a team captain, was shown on the broadcast entering the locker room with crutches and a boot on his right foot.

"It looked really bad," Lane Kiffin said in an interview with the ABC broadcast during the game.

Weeks, who wears LSU's famed No. 7 jersey, entered the game with 218 total tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception in four seasons with the program. The multi-year starter is also dating Kiffin's daughter, Landry Kiffin.

Weeks hobbled off the field and entered the locker room with the help of crutches and a boot on his right foot in LSU's big win over Texas A&M on Saturday, Sept. 26. The star linebacker had a towel draped over his head during the walk to the locker room, as shown by the ABC broadcast.

It's unclear the severity of the injury, but Kiffin said it "looked really bad" in an interview with the TV broadcast. Weeks threw his helmet when he got to the sideline after suffering the apparent injury.

It wouldn't be the first injury to Weeks' ankle or foot in his career. He was carted off the field in LSU's bowl game win over Baylor in 2024 after dislocating his ankle and being placed in an air cast.
