Whittingham fills gaps, not numbers, as Michigan shuts portal for good

In the new world of college football, teams are aggressive, adding players from the transfer portal, and usually it's even more so for a team with a coaching change. For Michigan football, with Kyle Whittingham taking over the program, it isn't that the Wolverines were particularly aggressive in adding numbers as much as they were adding needs.

Whittingham's first order of business was to retain the roster he was inheriting. And though there were some losses (like Cole Sullivan to Oklahoma, Jayden Sanders to Notre Dame, and Elijah Dotson to Missouri), he managed to pull some from the brink, with Jake Guarnera, Zeke Berry, Andrew Sprague, Jordan Young, and Enow Etta all having withdrawn from earlier transfer portal entries.

And while Whittingham and the new staff can still add players from the transfer portal, players can no longer enter until next year. Here is who the Wolverines added now that the portal is closed, with any more additions subject to change.
