Why are Notre Dame fans so mad?

It’s not a trick question, and it’s not some kind of “gotcha” thing. I actually thought about this last week while attending the Stanford game, as I sat next to a miserable piece of crap in Section 3 Row 20 seat 15 as he constantly berated every player and coach during the first half of a blowout — and didn’t return for the second half. Why are Notre Dame football fans so mad right now?

I’m not saying Notre Dame fans shouldn’t be mad. Of course many of you out there are mad as hell, and I’m one of them. Still… there are 5 games left in the regular season, and an enormous amount of opportunity in front of this Irish football team.

Still… I get it.

At 6-1 the Irish are ranked No. 4 in the AP Top 25, although they are likely to drop a spot or two after the bye week for no reason other than cheeseburger karma. Notre Dame is still sitting in a good spot, but… what the hell man?

I put up a poll, but I could have used about 15 more options. Frankly, I’m mad as hell about having to deal with a ridiculous loss in the season of “leave no doubt” and if we’re being honest — I think most of the things we say we’re pissed about all ends up flowing in that direction.

I’m not here to scold — or even validate your feelings. I just think we need to get this off of our chests while we’re in the middle of the bye week.

S0, here’s out final call here at OFD to talk about it all. Whatever is pissing you off — let it out. Don’t worry if you feel ridiculous, we took ridiculous to a whole new level on the latest podcast, so you’re in good company.
