Will Auburn land 2028 QB Sam Sollie's commitment on Saturday?

One of Alabama's top recruits from the 2028 recruiting cycle will announce his commitment soon. Will the Auburn Tigers be the winning party?

Three-star quarterback Sam Sollie will announce his commitment on Saturday, Aug. 8, just before the start of his 11th-grade season at Gadsden City High School. Auburn is among the schools in the mix to land him and is competing with SEC rivals Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky, and Mississippi State before he makes his announcement.

Where does Auburn fit into the picture? Neither the Tigers nor any team, for that matter, own a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports. However, Auburn has a positive forecast from Rivals one day before Sollie announces his commitment. Auburn holds predictions from Rivals experts Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons, giving them a 96% chance of adding Sollie to their 2028 haul. Tennessee is next in line with a 1.4% forecast.

Sollie took over the starting quarterback role at Gadsden City High School last season as a 10th grader, passing for 1,318 yards and 13 scores while leading the Titans to the second round of the AHSAA Class 6A playoffs. The 6-3, 187-pound quarterback is already garnering attention heading into his 11th-grade season, and has potential to grow his stock over the next two seasons.

If Auburn does land Sollie on Saturday, it will be the first player to join Auburn's 2028 class.
