MADISON – Wisconsin signed one running back in its 2026 recruiting class, but he won’t suit up for the Badgers.
Qwantavius “Fatboy” Wiggins announced on social media May 30 that he has committed to Georgia State, a university in Atlanta that isn’t far from his hometown of Fairburn, Georgia. The program plays in the Sun Belt Conference.
“COMMITTED & SIGNED,” he wrote on X. “The city raised me. Now it’s time to represent it. 100% committed to Georgia State University!”

Wiggins, a three-star prospect by 247sports and Rivals, committed to Wisconsin on Nov. 11. He first committed to Florida Atlantic in June, but during a big senior season at Langston Hughes High School, picked up offers from Cincinnati, Southern Mississippi, Auburn, Florida State and Wisconsin.
On signing day Badgers coach Luke Fickell noted that Wiggins would need to add size and power but liked his potential.
“It's really hard to teach that speed and that slash and that's where I think he's different than pretty much anybody we got in the program,” Fickell said Dec. 3.
Since then, UW has undergone major changes at the position.
Dilin Jones, the starter for most of the season, transferred to LSU. Gideon Ituka, who emerged late in the season, is out indefinitely after suffering an apparent neck injury at Indiana. The Badgers added three backs from the transfer portal: Senior Abu Sama (Iowa State), junior Bryan Jackson (USC) and redshirt sophomore Nate Palmer (TCU). They also received a commitment on May 1 from junior college transfer Julius Pope, who has three years of eligibility remaining.
After spring practice Sama and junior Darrion Dupree appeared to be at the top of the depth chart though competition for snaps is expected to continue throughout fall camp.
