Tennessee football legacy prospect commits to Alabama

A Tennessee football legacy prospect committed to a SEC school on Monday.
2027 four-star linebacker Kenneth Simon II committed to Alabama over the Vols, Georgia and Ole Miss. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect is from Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee.
247Sports ranks Simon II as the No. 7 linebacker in the class and No. 6 player in Tennessee.
His father, Kevin Simon, played for the Vols from 2001-05.
Tennessee offered Simon II a scholarship on May 12. He has unofficially visited the Vols eight times. Purdue was the first school to offer Simon II a scholarship.
Other schools to offer him scholarships include Kentucky, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, Auburn, SMU, Virginia Tech, Liberty, Tulane, Memphis, Southern Miss, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Florida State.
Tennessee has seven commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman and defensive back Carter Jamison.
