Notre Dame football already has one of the top 2027 recruiting classes, and there is some chatter by On3’s Steve Wiltfong (subscription required) that it could land some of the top prospects in the country.
He recently made his guess as to where the top uncommitted 5-star prospects will land, and the Irish are in the mix for more than a few of them. Notre Dame has eighteen current verbals in the cycle, so there is plenty of room to add some elite talent to the mix.
Find out below which of the best players in the class that Wiltfong believes that Notre Dame still has a shot at landing.
Offensive lineman Albert Simien

The 6-foot, 4-inch and 280-pounder could play on the defensive line as well, but he projects much better on offense. Simien took a visit to see Nebraska last week, and will be checking out Texas A&M this weekend. Notre Dame has set up an official visit with him starting on June 19th, but Wiltfong see’s the Aggies as the team to beat right now.
Linebacker Kaden Henderson

This might be the top remaining player on Notre Dame’s board, as they only have one current commit in the class. Henderson is reportedly also leaning towards the Aggies following a visit this past weekend, but like Simien will be on campus that same weekend. Expect the Irish to make a big push for him.
Defensive lineman Markus Fakatou
Let’s go!!! South Bend here I come! #GoIrish

At one point in his recruitment, Notre Dame was viewed as the leader, but Wiltfong has Ohio State ahead of them at the moment. Fakatou has the Irish scheduled as his final official, and that one could lead a lasting impression before he makes his final decision.
Defensive lineman Abraham Sesay
Amazing time. Thank you Notre Dame!@CoachPartridge@Marcus_Freeman1@NickSebas_pic.twitter.com/pCZ75Krcdd

Sesay will be on campus this weekend for his official visit, and Wiltfong has the Irish as his current leader. He is still considering LSU, Duke and Florida State, but Notre Dame will look to shore up their advantage during his time on campus.
