Texas A & M Dealing With Life After Losing Collin Klein To Kansas State

For the last two seasons, Texas A & M Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed had the luxury of having Collin Klein as his offensive coordinator. 

This marks the first time Reed will have to make an adjustment because Klein is now in charge for the Kansas State Wildcats. Reed took time to address it during SEC Media Days last week. He seems to have already moved on but Klein's presence will be missed. 

Klein was one of the nation's top offensive coordinators while at Texas A & M the last two seasons. He was a key reason for the Aggies advancing to the College Football Playoff a year ago. 

While he had one of the best jobs in the country, Klein couldn't pass up the opportunity to return to coach at his alma mater. He was a star quarterback for the Wildcats during the early 2010s, even earning an invitation to the Heisman ceremony as a senior. 

After serving as an assistant for a few seasons with the Wildcats when his playing ended, he was given the ultimate opportunity at Texas A & M. However, it's only fitting for Klein to get the first chance to prove himself in Manhattan. 

He enters with a built-in advantage than most first-year coaches. He knows the area and is already one of the most beloved figures in K-State sports history, joining the likes of Bill Snyder, Darren Sporles, Terrence Newman and Michael Bishop. 

It also helps Klein has relationships with some of the players he helped recruit while he was at Kansas State as a coach. One of them is quarterback Avery Johnson, who is entering his third season as the full-time starter. That alone should give Klein an edge when it comes to adjusting to new circumstances. 

So while Texas A & M seems just fine without Klein, the Wildcats are excited every bit about his arrival.
