The Texas football team posted a miraculous comeback on Saturday night, to defeat Ohio State 24-23. Texas quarterback Arch Manning made a lot of split-second decisions, to extend plays and help his team win the game.
The Longhorns quarterback is being honest about how badly he wanted revenge, after a loss last year to the Buckeyes.
“I did not want to come in here after a loss at home to Ohio State again,” Manning said postgame to reporters, per On3. “I’m so glad we won.”

Texas trailed the game 23-3 heading into the fourth quarter. Manning marched the Longhorns all the way back, putting together one of the biggest comebacks against a top 10 team in the history of college football.
The Longhorns could sense when the tide was turning.
“(Texas head coach) Steve Sarkisian said this eventually became a “screw it” game for Texas QB Arch Manning. The game changed when he started scrambling, extending plays and keeping drives alive for the Longhorns. Texas’ final three TD possessions were 15, 13 and 12 plays,” the outlet added.
The Texas-Ohio State game was a matchup of two elite college quarterbacks. Ohio State had Julian Sayin under center, who many believe could win a Heisman Trophy this season. Texas meanwhile had Manning, a legacy name who has led the Longhorns for the last few seasons.
Manning finished his night with 195 passing yards, a touchdown pass and an interception.
“Arch played like a man tonight,” Sarkisian added about his quarterback.
Texas is now 2-0 on the season following the win. The Longhorns are striving to return to the College Football Playoff this year. Texas missed the CFP in 2025, after making the field in 2023 and 2024 under Sarkisian.
Texas football is next in action against UTSA on September 19.
