It’s about to be a blast of a Saturday, starting with a slew of interesting showdowns to go along with the monster Texas game at Tennessee. It keeps on going as conference play kicks in all the way up to the Minnesota trip to Washington in a Big Ten After Dark fight. College Football Week 4 Predictions

Bucknell at Pitt

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET
TV: ACC Network
Consensus Line: Pitt -53.5, o/u: 63.5
Pitt (3-0) hasn’t been able to get its offense going, and now it gets a tune-up before diving deep into ACC play at Virginia Tech next week. Bucknell (1-3) doesn’t generate any sort of a pass rush, and the offense doesn’t have enough pop to keep up once the Panthers get going.
Prediction: Pitt 58, Bucknell 6

Colorado State at UTSA

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: UTSA -13.5, o/u: 57.5 
Just when it seemed like Colorado State (2-1) was ramping up the offense for life in the new Pac-12, it suffered a major setback with starting quarterback Hauss Hejny out with a hamstring injury. UTSA (2-1) plays at a whole other level at home. The offense that struggled over the last few weeks won’t blow up, but it’ll be more efficient.
Prediction: UTSA 34, Colorado State 23

UNLV at Akron

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: UNLV -13.5, o/u: 52.5 
Does UNLV (1-2) have anything in the tank after traveling to Hawaii, then North Texas, and now to Akron (1-2)? The Rebels had a week off to rest up and prepare, and now they have to find their offense again after getting rocked by the Mean Green. Akron has a better offense than it showed against Minnesota and Wake Forest, but it won’t be able to slow down the Rebel attack once it gets going.
Prediction: UNLV 34, Akron 20

Ball State at Kent State

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: Kent State -3.5, o/u: 49.5 
MAC play gets going with Kent State needing to prove that it’s ready to make a splash now that it’s not playing Ohio State or South Carolina. Ball State (1-2) won’t do anything on third downs on either side of the ball. This will be close late on a Cardinal fourth quarter rally.
Prediction: Kent State 27, Ball State 23

Lindenwood at Eastern Michigan

Game Time: 1:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: Eastern Michigan -25.5, o/u: 50.5
Eastern Michigan (1-3) desperately needs a good performance. It wasn’t awful against Michigan State or Wisconsin, but it could use a fun day against an FCS team that doesn’t do much on defense. Lindenwood (1-2) doesn’t have much of a passing game, but it can run a little bit.
Prediction: Eastern Michigan 41, Lindenwood 16

Northern Illinois at Georgia State

Game Time: 2:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: Georgia State -10.5, o/u: 56.5 
Georgia State (2-1) has been night-and-day better than the last few years. The offense is cranking up the running game, and aside from last week’s occasionally decent performance against Arizona, Northern Illinois (0-3) won’t slow down the Panthers – the Huskies are the worst in the nation at coming up with third down stops.
Prediction: Georgia State 34, Northern Illinois 23

Central Arkansas at Florida State

Game Time: 3:00 PM ET
TV: ACC Network
Consensus Line: Florida State -45.5, o/u: 63.5
The chatter at Florida State (1-2) is all about who the next head coach might be – Jimbo Fisher’s name has been floated around – but the Seminoles still have time to turn things around, and it starts with the complete and total annihilation of a Central Arkansas (2-2) team that can run the ball but will have a big problem once the Seminole offense gets rolling.
Prediction: Florida State 56, Central Arkansas 10

Hawaii at Wyoming

Game Time: 3:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: Hawaii -2.5, o/u: 43.5 
It’s been a disappointing start for both teams, but Hawaii (1-2) has had two weeks off to prepare for a Wyoming (1-2) team that put up a combined 23 points against Colorado State and Central Michigan. It’s Wyoming, so it’ll be a low-scoring game with field position coming at a premium. And just in case you’re wondering, it should be a delightful 70ish degrees.
Prediction: Hawaii 23, Wyoming 20

William & Mary at Duke

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: ACC Network
Consensus Line: Duke -43.5, o/u: 62.5
Duke (3-0) has been fantastic over the first three weeks, and now it gets a scrimmage before diving back into ACC play at Georgia Tech. First, it has to deal with a William & Mary team that struggles on the offensive front but has a bigger problem stopping the run.
Prediction: Duke 52, William & Mary 10

UConn at Miami University

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET

Consensus Line: Miami University -3.5, o/u: 51.5 
UConn (2-1) hasn’t been that bad so far under new head coach Jason Candle, the former Toledo coach who knows all about Miami University (1-2). The RedHawk defense hasn’t been anything great, but the offense will go off through the air when it needs to in the final few minutes.
Prediction: Miami University 30, UConn 26

New Mexico at New Mexico State

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET

Consensus Line: New Mexico -11.5, o/u: 48.5 
This rivalry game always has a few crazy twists and turns, but New Mexico (2-1) is far better now under head coach Jason Eck. It won easily last year and will run all over the New Mexico State (1-2) defensive front this time around.
Prediction: New Mexico 31, New Mexico State 17

Robert Morris at Buffalo

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Buffalo -28.5, o/u: 46.5
Buffalo (1-2) could use a confidence boost after getting rolled on the road by FIU and Penn State. Robert Morris (2-1) hasn’t been bad defensively against horrible FCS teams, and two weeks ago it got rocked by Akron. The Bulls will be fine if they stop turning the ball over.
Prediction: Buffalo 37, Robert Morris 10

Stonehill at Ohio

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Ohio -32.5, o/u: 53.5
Ohio (1-2) has to get its groove back. All three games so far have been decent fights – even the 49-21 loss at Nebraska – and now the offense will put some points on the board. Stonehill (1-3) wasn’t awful against UMass last week in a 36-14 loss, but it won’t be able to keep up for more than a quarter.
Prediction: Ohio 41, Stonehill 6

Gardner-Webb at Marshall

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Marshall -23.5, o/u: 51.5
Gardner-Webb (1-3) gave Liberty a hard time in a 24-23 loss and bounced back to rock NC Central – the offense has a passing game to worry about. Marshall (2-1) will pull this off, but it’ll have to fight for a full 60 minutes.

Houston at Georgia Southern

Consensus Line: Houston -17.5, o/u: 56.5
It’s been a rough few weeks for Georgia Southern (1-2) – the offense lost its mojo. The defense is improved, but the running game isn’t doing a thing. Houston (2-1) will get past its loss to Texas Tech with an easy win.
Prediction: Houston 37, Georgia Southern 10

North Carolina Central at East Carolina

Consensus Line: East Central -36.5, o/u: 56.5
East Carolina (1-2) is having a nightmare of a time coming up with third down conversions for an offense that’s been a shocking dud. It’ll look fantastic against an NC Central (2-2) defense that won’t come up with enough stops to matter.
Prediction: East Carolina 47, NC Central 10

USF at Bowling Green

Game Time: 5:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: USF -17.5, o/u: 49.5 
Bowling Green (0-3) is having a tough time stopping anyone, getting roasted by Nebraska and Iowa State by a combined score of 111-14, and it won’t have any more fun against a USF (3-0) team that won’t make any mistakes and won’t have to sweat too hard.
Prediction: USF 38, Bowling Green 13

Delaware at Virginia

Game Time: 6:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: Virginia -19.5, o/u: 52.5 
With a good passing game, Delaware (2-1) will always keep on pushing. Unfortunately, it’s going against a Virginia (2-1) team that will want to tighten up after a loss to West Virginia. The Cavaliers will get the offense going fast.
Prediction: Virginia 40, Delaware 20

Incarnate Word at Texas State

Game Time: 6:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: Texas State -30.5, o/u: 64.5
Incarnate Word (2-1) has been fun. The high-octane offense can wing it around the yard, and Texas State (1-2) will be more than happy to be a part of the fun. Expect a blast of a shootout i the first half, and then it’ll get ugly.

James Madison at Old Dominion

Game Time: 6:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: James Madison -6.5, o/u: 44.5
Old Dominion (1-2) is having a problem finding the same magic of the last few years, and now it has to deal with a James Madison (3-0) team that’s coming off a solid win at San Diego State. The Dukes’ defense will hold up from the start – the Monarchs will have a hard time getting moving in a key Sun Belt showdown.
Prediction: James Madison 27, Old Dominion 20

Long Island University at FIU

Game Time: 6:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: FIU -35.5, o/u: 53.5
The FIU (1-2) offense won’t put up astronomical numbers, but it’ll have a good home day against an LIU (0-4) team that’s a wee bit better than the record, but doesn’t have the offense to keep up.
Prediction: FIU 47, LIU 10

Central Michigan at Miami

Game Time: 6:30 PM ET
TV: CW
Consensus Line: Miami -41.5, o/u: 53.5
Central Michigan (1-2) is stepping up defensively, but it doesn’t have an offense to keep up after Miami (3-0) gets moving. The Chippewas will put up a good fight for a quarter, and then the Hurricanes will take over and dominate the rest of the way.
Prediction: Miami 48, Central Michigan 7

Louisiana at Charlotte

Game Time: 6:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Louisiana -10.5, o/u: 49.5 
Charlotte (0-3) wasn’t bad in a low to App State, but it can’t catch much of a break. The offense won’t be bad, but the Louisiana (2-1) quick style will be too good. The 49ers won’t have any answers to two efficient Ragin’ Cajun first half drives.
Prediction: Louisiana 31, Charlotte 20

Kansas State at Cincinnati

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: Kansas State -6.5, o/u: 55.5
Kansas State (3-0) hasn’t had a problem in any of its first three games, but Cincinnati (3-0) has cranked up the offense and should be ready with the conservative short-range passing game rolling. The Wildcats will push through with the running game controlling the game on one side, and the pass rush disrupting the Bearcat passing game on the other.
Prediction: Kansas State 34, Cincinnati 27

Southern Miss at Tulane

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET

Consensus Line: Tulane -18.5, o/u: 52.5 
The Tulane (1-2) offense has been disappointing so far, but it’ll work just fine against a Southern Miss (1-2) defense that can’t come up with a third down stop.
Prediction: Tulane 38, Southern Miss 16

Kennesaw State at Arkansas State

Consensus Line: Arkansas State -6.5, o/u: 53.5
Is this when Kennesaw State (1-2) starts to play like the defending Conference USA champion? It didn’t look great over the last two weeks, but this is when the offense will start to get going against an Arkansas State (1-2) that can’t come up with a third down stop.
Prediction: Kennesaw State 27, Arkansas State 26

Middle Tennessee at Jacksonville State

Consensus Line: Jacksonville State -7.5, o/u: 51.5 
This isn’t the same Middle Tennessee (2-1) team of the last few years. It’s far more competitive, and it won’t get run over by a Jacksonville State (2-2) attack that’s been a bit too inconsistent in key moments. The Gamecocks will win, but it won’t be a breeze.
Prediction: Jacksonville State 30, Middle Tennessee 23

Arizona at Washington State

Consensus Line: Arizona -10.5, o/u: 48.5
Washington State (1-2) has been plucky, but it doesn’t have the offensive pop to keep up if Arizona (2-1) gets going early. The Wildcats will pull this off, but the Cougars will force field goals early on instead of touchdowns to stay alive.
Prediction: Arizona 31, Washington State 17

Troy at Utah State

Consensus Line: Utah State -2.5, o/u: 47.5
When will Utah State (0-3) show up? The offense has been a dud, but playing Utah and Washington had something to do with it. Troy (2-1) has the type of team that hangs around and then finds ways to win, but the Aggies are overdue for a good all-around performance. Way overdue.

Houston Christian at North Texas

The North Texas (1-2) offense has found itself over the last two weeks, and it’s about to go off, especially on the ground, against a Houston Christian (2-2) that won’t hold up on the defensive front. However, the Huskies will keep on firing to make it interesting for a bit.

App State at NC State

Be really, really, really careful, NC State (1-2). The Wolfpack are coming off an all-time disaster of a loss to Vanderbilt, and App State (3-0) has the passing game and offense grooving well enough to pull off the shocker. The Pack will win, but it’ll take four quarters to do it.

Tulsa at Arkansas

Can Tulsa (3-0) really do the impossible and add Arkansas (1-2) to its victims? It already has the Oklahoma State win, but it won’t be able to quite hold up against a Hog team that looked awful against Georgia and Utah – no shame there. Now the Ryan Silverfield era gets to have a little fun, but it won’t be easy.

Florida Atlantic at ULM

Consensus Line: Florida Atlantic -11.5, o/u: 57.5 
ULM (0-3) can’t seem to do much of anything right, and while Florida Atlantic (2-1) has been a bit up-and-down, the high-powered passing game will be too much. The Warhawks won’t be able to keep up.

Missouri State at SMU

Consensus Line: SMU -34.5, o/u: 58.5
Missouri State (1-2) might have an interesting offense, but SMU (2-1) will get the offense moving and keep it going. The Bears don’t have the pass defense to handle Kevin Jennings’ efficiency – the Mustangs will get up fast.
Prediction: SMU 48, Missouri State 13

Oregon State at UTEP

Consensus Line: Oregon State -10.5, o/u: 56.5
The Oregon State (1-2) passing game has been fantastic so far, and now it’ll light up a UTEP (1-2) defense that can’t get off the field. It’s a long trip for the Beavers, but the attack will heat up right away.
Prediction: Oregon State 38, UTEP 23

Mercyhurst at Western Kentucky

Consensus Line: Western Kentucky -40.5, o/u: 57.5 
It’s been a disastrous start for a Western Kentucky (0-3) team that was expected to be a part of the Group of Six College Football Playoff hunt. Before dealing with Conference USA play, it’ll take out its frustrations on a Mercyhurst (1-3) team that’s about to get hit hard.

UMass at Sacramento State

Can we finally admit that UMass (3-0) is the real deal, at least against MAC teams? Sacramento State (1-3) hasn’t been awful, but it has to handle a Pop Watson and a Minutemen offense that’s been way too efficient.

Rice at Fresno State

Consensus Line: Fresno State -13.5, o/u: 44.5 
When will Fresno State (2-1) start playing up to its talent? It didn’t have any problems over the last few weeks, but it hasn’t been razor-sharp. It will be against the Rice (1-2) running game that will sputter a bit too often early and won’t be able to throw to get back in it.

Georgia Tech at Stanford

Game Time: 10:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN
Consensus Line: Georgia Tech -3.5, o/u: 48.5
Beating Mercer 44-11 doesn’t mean Georgia Tech (1-2) is okay now, but it at least helped wake up a team that’s far better than it looked early on, at least against Colorado. Stanford (1-2) has the late-night advantage – the game will be over around 2 am Georgia Tech time – but the offense is still sputtering too much.

Air Force at Nevada

Game Time: 10:30 PM ET

Consensus Line: Air Force -5.5, o/u: 50.5 
Nevada (1-2) has been up and down from the start of the year, and now the inconsistencies will be a problem against a rested Air Force (1-1) team that will run wild against a Wolf Pack defense that allows 155 rushing yards per game.
