The Wisconsin Badgers have landed a commitment from three-star defensive back Royalton Allen, he announced on Tuesday.

Allen, a native of California, was on a visit to Madison this weekend as a part of Wisconsin’s first group of priority targets. He had been trending towards the Badgers, with multiple reporters placing a crystal ball prediction for him to commit to Wisconsin. And that’s exactly what happened.

Heading into official visits, Allen was set to visit Wisconsin first, with trips to Colorado State and BYU. Allen, who stands 6’0, 175 pounds, is the first cornerback to join the Badgers in this cycle, and more could be coming. Wisconsin is also firmly in the running for four-star cornerback Mekhi Williams, who de-committed from Florida State after his official visit to Madison this weekend.

The Badgers were a late offer for Allen, who only received a scholarship from Wisconsin on May 21st. But the two sides worked quickly to schedule an official visit for the first available weekend, giving the Badgers the first shot at securing a commitment.

Now, Allen becomes the 16th commit for Wisconsin, whose class is trending to be a top-30 one once again for head coach Luke Fickell.

Wisconsin came into the weekend with six uncommitted targets heading into campus. Three have now committed, with Allen joining three-star linebacker Nathan Jones and four-star wide receiver Jai Jones.
