CFP National Championship 2026: Nebraska Fans Predict Miami vs. Indiana

Well, here we are on the morning of college football’s championship game of the electrically-named College Football Playoff. Okay, fine, I much prefer that to something which would sound like it came from the coked-up creative mind of an east coast marketing whiz named Prescott whose sports experience was #5 singles on the high school tennis team his freshman and sophomore year before concentrating on musicals and a mastery replacing his parents’ booze with water.

College Football Playoff it is. And this may be one to savor before further increasing the field to 16 or 24 teams – which would be truly amazing to see after failing to not drag out a tournament of of only 12 around weekends of NFL regular season and playoff games. Yes, watch Thursday, Friday and Monday nights complementing mid-week day CFP games with Pinstripe Bowl-level viewing audiences and crowds.

Fine, I’m done – let’s talk Indiana vs. Miami. Yes, there were some playoff blowouts this year, but if James Madison and Tulane were the reason the G5 schools need to be left out, then Alabama and Oregon made the case to eliminate the SEC and the Big 10. Well, not the Big 10 I guess, since Oregon was hung from a high Big 10 tree by conference mates Indiana.

And while Indiana, who has never won a football title, was curb-stomping the ever-loving poo out of Alabama and Oregon, Miami, who hasn’t won in 24 years and skated into the CFP by the skin of their teeth, was 1) edging the aTm on their home field in an unwatchable, windswept VHS bum fight, 2) upsetting Ohio St. despite always fearsome but empty threats of their retribution following a loss (Indiana), and finally 3) nipping the Kiffin-less Ole Miss Rebs and crushing the dreams of those who wanted to them win the title after Mr. Hot Yoga skipped off to Baton Rouge.

Wagering houses were much more impressed by Indiana’s scorched-earth victories. As a matter of fact, they began releasing championship game lines at the conclusion of the 3rd quarter in the Indiana-Oregon massacre, the first one dinging my phone with Indiana favored by -9.5.

Since then? Well, let’s get you to your CFP Title Game info: (Wagering lines current as of Sunday evening – please CLICK HERE to check current numbers at FanDuel):

And by the way, here’s how everyone feels both betting and cheering for Indiana.

  • I think it speaks to how dominant Indiana has looked thus far that 1) they are favored by -8.5, and 2) 77% are taking Indiana at that spread while 3) the game is being played on Miami’s home field.Miami getting trounced at their own place would make me happy. (May old sports hatreds never die.)

  • I would think the only areas of the map not clearly favoring Indiana are located in Miami, FL and South Bend, IN.
