Miami vs. Indiana prediction

The Arizona Republic: Indiana 31, Miami 17

Jeremy Cluff writes: "Miami gets to play this game at home at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. How big of an advantage will that be? Not big enough. While the Hurricanes' run to the national championship game has been special, the Hoosiers are playing on another level. Both of these defenses are special, but Carson Beck and Miami's offense won't be able to keep up with Fernando Mendoza and Indiana as Curt Cignetti leads his team to its first national championship."

Sports Illustrated: Indiana 27, Miami 17

Pat Forde writes: "I give Miami a puncher’s chance to at least keep it close, but there is no doubt which is the more buttoned-up team here. If this becomes a game of avoiding major mistakes, Indiana ranks among the best we’ve ever seen at that. And Cignetti is the more reliable decision-maker in a tight spot."

Action Network: Bet Indiana to cover against Miami

Joshua Nunn writes: "No one has been able to effectively run the football against Miami, as the Canes give up just 86 rushing yards per game and 2.9 yards per carry. However, Indiana is a different animal. The Hoosiers' superior offensive line is going to pave the way for them to find success both on the ground and through the air."

BetMGM: Bet Miami with the points vs Indiana

It writes: "Based on recent against-the-spread trends, the model predicts Miami (FL) will cover the spread with 73.1% confidence. This prediction against the spread factors in ATS performances for both teams, opening and current betting lines, plus public and sharp money already wagered on this matchup."

USA TODAY Sports: Indiana 24, Miami 23

Austin Curtright writes: "Ultimately, I trust Indiana's veteran roster, along with Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who has the edge over opposing quarterback Carson Beck. Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor will make things tough for the projected No. 1 overall pick, though. Give me the Hoosiers on a last-second score, resulting in an unprecedented title for the former Big Ten doormat-turned college football power of the future."

Bookies.com: Bet Indiana to cover vs Miami

Bill Speros writes: "This number moved from 3 points before the national semifinals to 7.5 after IU's dominant win over Oregon. The Hoosiers can score, and score, and score some more. QB Carson Beck and the Hurricanes won't be able to mount the same sort of miraculous comeback against Indiana that they pulled off to beat Ole Miss at the wire. Miami has enjoyed a fun run this postseason. The Hoosiers, however, are a freight train with no brakes headed down I-75 to the Florida Turnpike. Indiana dominates the line of scrimmage on both sides. Miami's running game stalls here, and Beck is forced to play catch-up. Unfortunately, he won't this time. Indiana flexes its might one more time, and Mendoza ends a college football season for the ages with a national championship victory in — sort of — his hometown."
