Cincinnati Notre Dame recruit earns spot in national football ranking

High school football will soon return, which means it's almost time to kick on those Friday Night Lights.

USA TODAY High School Sports has released its latest class of 2027 football player rankings, which were compiled using composite evaluations from several industry recruiting services. One Cincinnati athlete landed among the nation's top 100 seniors.

Ace Alston, a cornerback at Anderson High School, tied for No. 96 with Quentin Burrell, a wide receiver from Mount Carmel High School in Chicago. Alston, a Notre Dame commit, is listed at 6 feet and 185 pounds. His industry composite ranking is 119.

Alston is the only senior from Greater Cincinnati to make the Aug. 4 list.

  • No. 26: Jamier Brown, wide receiver from Big Walnut High School in Sunbury, Ohio.
  • No. 63:  Kellen Wymer, interior offensive lineman from Liberty Center High School in Liberty Center, Ohio.
  • No. 91: Kei'Shjuan Telfair, cornerback from Euclid High School in Euclid, Ohio.
  • No. 96: Ace Alston, cornerback from Anderson High School in Cincinnati.
