Colorado football and Deion Sanders woke up on Sunday morning to their fourth commitment for the class of 2027 over the weekend.

Unranked running back Steven Alexis announced his commitment to Colorado early Sunday, choosing the Buffaloes over Pittsburgh, Illinois, Iowa and others. He had 19 total offers and was coming off a June 5 visit to CU.

The St. Petersburg, Florida native rushed for 1,113 yards and nine touchdowns on 124 attempts last season. He also racked up eight receptions for 50 yards. At 6-foot, 203 pounds, Alexis has the size to rush inside while also being light enough to get outside on the edge.

Surprisingly, Alexis becomes only the second offensive skill-position player that Colorado has landed this cycle, with the Buffaloes' recruiting staff prioritizing both the lines and the secondary. Wide receiver Jaiden Kelly-Murray is the other skill player to join the Buffs.

Alexis' commitment brings Colorado's total to 13 class of 2027 commits and improves the Buffaloes' national rank to No. 35. In the Big 12, CU holds the fourth-best class in the Big 12, just behind Kansas State, which has two more commitments.
