Colorado football receives vote in US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 1

Week 1 has come and gone with the Colorado Buffaloes securing an impressive comeback Week 1 win on the road against Georgia Tech. The Buffs showed an impressive brand of football, led by a dominant rushing game and standout performances along both lines. The win against a solid ACC opponent was enough to muster one vote in the updated US LBM Coaches Poll.
After receiving no votes in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll, CU has received a vote for the first time since the first poll of the 2025 season. The Buffs were the final team to gain a vote in this week's poll.
Elsewhere in college football, Ohio State remains No. 1, with Georgia (No. 2), Texas (No. 3), Notre Dame (No. 4) and Indiana (No. 5) all moving up one spot after Oregon's near loss to Boise State.
Texas Tech leads the Big 12 in the rankings at No. 13, dropping one spot, followed by BYU at No. 15, Utah at No. 20 and Houston at No. 22. The Arizona Wildcats, who impressed in Week 1, were the first Big 12 team in the receiving votes section, earning 42 votes. Arizona State (11 votes), Kansas State (6 votes) and Colorado (1 vote) are the three other Big 12 programs joining the receiving votes section.
Clemson was the only team to fall from the poll, while Michigan dropped the most spots (eight), and LSU, which beat Clemson, moved up the most (five).
If Colorado wants to continue its upward trend, a big win against Weber State in Week 2 is certainly a necessity.
