The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into their biggest game of the season this week against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa in a showdown which has the potential to be one of the best of the year.
While the battle on the field will be the focus from the fans all week, a battle between the two SEC powers on the recruiting trail is beginning to heat up. In-state cornerback Preston Glasco, who was previously committed to UConn, has been flirting with pursuits from Alabama and Georgia among others, but it seems the Dawgs and Crimson Tide are the final two to beat.
Glasco has actually been projected to land in Tuscaloosa as of late and will be in attendance this weekend, but he spent this past weekend in Athens and it was another successful visit for the Grayson High School standout.
Glasco Had Another Great Georgia Visit This Weekend
"Georgia still sits high on my list," Glasco told Rivals. "They make me feel like a priority, therefore, they’re a priority for me. I love Athens."
Also expressing excitement to see his two top choices face off on the field, Glasco confirmed he will be taking another Alabama visit this weekend, his second in the last month alone. It's clear he has a whole lot of love for both the Tide and the Bulldogs and that this is going to be a tough choice for him over the next couple of weeks.
Georgia is a bit lean at defensive back for this class of 2027, so landing Glasco as a final piece could provide some fantastic reinforcement to the group before signing day comes along after the season.
No formal prediction has been made as of now even though Alabama seems to have more momentum than Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs for Glasco right now, so this race is still a toss up and if Georgia is indeed behind, there is still time to make a final push before he announces the decision.
Glasco is very much a late bloomer in his recruitment as a three-star prospect, but as big times program begin to circle, it's clear that he has potential that goes beyond his ranking. A productive football player at a big-time high school program, this is a potential future key piece of an SEC secondary.
Time will tell whether or not that proves to be the Bulldogs.
