The grandson of a legendary North Carolina A&T coach is heading to Greensboro to continue the family legacy. Per a report by NC Sports Page, Tyson Broadway has committed to North Carolina A&T.

The three-star quarterback is the grandson of Rod Broadway, who turned North Carolina A&T into a perennial contender in the 2010s, winning two Celebration Bowls. Broadway is a dynamic prospect, putting up stellar numbers as he hits his senior season.

In his sophomore year for Reidsville High School, he threw for 3,245 yards and 22 touchdowns. That sophomore season came with an offer from Georgia Tech, as well as other college offers. He has ultimately chosen to commit to North Carolina A&T as he sets to graduate next year.

Tyson Broadway now looks to build upon the standard his grandfather established at North Carolina A&T. Rod Broadway authored one of the most successful coaching runs in Aggie football history, posting a 59–22 overall record and a 41–15 mark in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play. His .728 winning percentage remains the highest of any football coach in program history, while his 59 victories rank second all-time.

Broadway’s tenure brought sustained championship success to Greensboro. He guided the Aggies to three MEAC titles—accounting for one-third of the program’s conference championships—and delivered two HBCU national championships in 2015 and 2017. His teams were especially dominant at Aggie Stadium, where North Carolina A&T compiled a 33–5 home record and built a 10-game winning streak.

The Broadway era also produced a level of consistency few coaches matched. Under his leadership, the Aggies recorded two seasons with 10 or more victories, a feat unmatched by any other coach in school history.
