Heisman Trophy betting odds: Favorites, contenders, future picks for Week 7 including Smith, Stockton

Week 6 had tons of drama in Heisman market with Georgia beating Alabama, Texas losing to Oklahoma, and Indiana going wire to wire with Nebraska. One thing stayed certain, Jeremiah Smith's Heisman campaign has no holes in it. Let’s get started with the Week 7 Heisman Rankings!

Even on four receptions, Jeremiah Smith made his impact felt. Smith had two touchdowns against Maryland and also pulled in a sick one-hander then weaved through some traffic. After 93 yards versus the Terps, Smith is second in the country in receptions (48), receiving yards (916), and receiving touchdowns (11). Smith and the Buckeyes head to Bloomington to take on the #7 ranked Indiana Hoosiers. In the 2025 Big Ten Championship Game, Smith caught eight passes for 144 yards in a 13-10 loss to Indiana.

Darian Mensah went from +480 to +1000 to win the Heisman following Miami's bye week. The Hurricanes host Florida State and Pitt over the next two games before a two-game road trip to North Carolina and Notre Dame. Mensah's Heisman campaign will come down to Miami at Notre Dame and if he can continue a clean sheet in the turnover department (0 INT, 0 FUM).

CJ Carr threw at least three touchdowns for a third-consecutive game and posted a season-high 41 rushing yards in a 58-7 win over Stanford. Carr had his three-game rushing touchdown streak snapped and a season-low 181 passing yards, but neither hinder his Heisman resume. In fact, it'll be forgotten because Notre Dame's season comes down to two games and one of them is this weekend. If Carr and the Irish offense put up a masterclass effort in Provo, Utah, then Carr could climb to the No. 2 spot and become the biggest threat to catching Jeremiah Smith.

Ole Miss came out of the bye week swinging. The Rebels scored a season-high 52 points against Vanderbilt and Trinidad Chambliss totaled four touchdowns and 218 yards. Chambliss tied a season-high with three touchdown passes and had a season-low 213 passing yards due to the blowout. Chambliss did throw an interception, which marked three-straight games with a pick. The Rebels have three ranked games over the next four weeks (Missouri, Texas, Georgia), so Chambliss' Heisman run could be starting now.

Gunner Stockton once again won a big game. Stockton accounted for both of Georgia's touchdowns in the 20-17 win over #6 Alabama. The senior signal caller tossed 249 yards on 18-of-22 (81.8%) and ran for 12 more yards. On third down, Stockton was a big play machine going 9-for-10 and 104 yards. Stockton led 69, 84, and 40 yard drives in the fourth quarter to take the lead and hold it. That win alone gets him into the top five.

Keelon Russell had a season-low 185 passing yards and took a season-high four sacks in the 20-17 loss to #2 Georgia. After scoring 45 or more points in five-striaght games, Alabama's offense met its match. Alabama only had three drives in the second half. The first resulted in a field goal during the third quarter and the next two were punts in the fourth. The Tide managed 117 total yards of offense in the second half and went 2-for-5 on third downs. The Tide will likely be favored in every remaining regular season game, but are about to endure an interesting stretch of three road games over the next four (Tennessee, LSU, Vanderbilt). Russell's odds dropped from third-best at +750 to fifth-best at +1500, so he's not out of the running yet.

To start Big Ten play, Julian Sayin is averaging 311.0 passing yards per game with 11 passing touchdowns, one rushing score, and one interception over three contests. Sayin completed 60 out of 84 passes (71.4%) in that span and the offense has averaged 39.3 points per game. With a road win at Indiana, Sayin should jump into the top five for Heisman odds and he could be this week's biggest riser next to CJ Carr if Notre Dame beats BYU. Despite the recent heater, his odds have remained the same at +3500, while Jeremiah Smith has watched his odds go from +1200 to -220 in the span of three weeks.

Indiana was so close to getting upset ay Nebraska, but a huge fourth quarter from Josh Hoover and Nick Marsh kept the Hoosiers undefeated. Hoover connected on a quick slant that Marsh took to the house 75 yards to cut the lead from 17-6 to 17-13. Then on Indiana's next offensive drive, Hoover hit Marsh on fourth and one from 44 yards out untouched. Hoover's Heisman case was dead up until that point but a comeback win on the road gets you a few points. He's still yet to throw an interception either with a 17:0 TD to INT ratio.

Malachi Toney will need a big second half of the year if he wants to get back into the Heisman race. Coming off the bye week, his odds went from +3000 to +5000. Toney had 40 yards and five receptions against Clemson in his last game, which marked his first outing without a touchdown and second under 100 yards. Florida State couldn't stop a nose bleed against Louisville last week with 537 yards and 42 points allowed, so it's a good matchup for Mensah and Toney to stat pad late.

Kamario Taylor and Mississippi State couldn't have asked for a better time to reset following the 56-23 loss to Alabama. Coming out of the bye week, Mississippi State goes to LSU, then hosts Oklahoma before visiting Texas. Taylor could put himself back into the conversation with a dominant stretch and a winning record over the next three weeks.

Arch Manning was having one of his best performances of the season in quarters one through three against Oklahoma, but everything shifted in the fourth. Manning tossed two picks, including one that was returned for a touchdown and another that gave Oklahoma the opportunity to make the game-winning field goal. It marked the fourth game he's thrown a pick this season and fifth-straight without a rushing score.

New to the Top 25

Gunner Stockton has made an appearance on this list a few times, but after the Alabama win, he's here to stay. The Georgia offense is so well-rounded he hasn't had to do much, but when called upon, he has delivered. Being the quarterback on the No. 1 team in the country usually lands you on these lists — a la Arch Manning.
