The LSU Tigers are not done adding former Ole Miss players to Lane Kiffin's roster this offseason.
LSU is adding former Ole Miss defensive tackle Zxavian Harris to the roster for next season, per reports from On3. Harris previously signed an undrafted deal with the New Orleans Saints.
This comes after it was reported by ESPN that former Ole Miss tight Dae'Quan Wright would be joining LSU if he officially clears waivers after parting ways with the Cleveland Browns.
Ole Miss could be on the span of adding two former NFL players in the span of less than 24 hours.
Zxavian Harris, Lane Kiffin Have Some Making Up to Do
Once Harris officially arrives to LSU, he and Kiffin will have some rekindling to do.
After Kiffin's controversial exit from Ole Miss at the end of last season, Harris publicly called out the head coach for how he left things in Oxford.
"All he's been trying to do is steal our shine," Harris said, according to ESPN."Like a slap and the backhand. He was trying to be a troll. We're going to troll him. We got something for him."
This continued when Harris spoke with reporters at the NFL Combine.
"When Kiffin was there, he was telling us like almost every day, don't believe the rumors," Harris said, per The Athletic. "Like, he's not gonna leave, to keep us focused. But by the time it came, everybody was starstruck. He told us not to believe the rumors. We should have believed it, and he just left out of nowhere."
What LSU is Getting With Zxavian Harris
LSU was already set to have a talented defensive line headed into the season. This is highlighted by three star-studded freshmen in Deuce Geralds, Richard Anderson and Lamar Brown along with transfers like Princewill Umanmielen, Malik Blocton and Jordan Ross among others.
Now, LSU is adding an experienced player in Harris, who gives the Tigers arguably the best defensive line in the SEC, if not the country.
Across his four years at Ole Miss, Harris posted 122 total tackles (59 solo), 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble, three pass breakups and an interception.
Not only will be a mentor for LSU's next generation of defensive linemen but he also gives the Tigers even more talent to rotate in and out of the lineup, something that could give fits to opposing SEC offensive lines.
