LSU football has signed one of the top-ranked defensive ends in the transfer portal, according to a social media report from CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer. Former Tennessee pass rusher Jordan Ross is now a Tiger.

Ross's signing comes after LSU hosted Ross for a visit in Baton Rouge. The talented edge defender was a priority for LSU head coach Lane Kiffin and defensive coordinator Blake Baker.

On3 ranks Ross as the No. 5 EDGE in the transfer portal and a top-50 overall transfer prospect.

The addition of Ross addressed a key need for LSU. The Tigers are losing Patrick Payton and Jack Pyburn, two veteran defensive ends who played the bulk of the snaps in 2025. Payton and Pyburn were productive players with a wealth of Power Four experience.

LSU signed transfer defensive end Jaylen Brown on Thursday, but Ross gives LSU a more proven option. Ross is a former five-star recruit and looks the part when he's on the field. He recorded 13 pressures and two sacks with the Vols in 2025.

LSU's transfer portal class ranks top-three in the nation, per 247Sports.
