Miami football is making a brand change after being with Adidas since 2015, and they’ll now be returning to Nike as both sides have agreed to a 10-year contract worth more than $200 million, according to Daniel Hager of On3. Adidas did have a counteroffer, but it didn’t have the same terms as the Nike contract.
The partnership is set to start in 2027.
There were rumors earlier in the week that Miami planned to come out with their throwback jerseys in the future, but that wouldn’t have worked under Adidas. That led to early assumptions that the program was possibly heading back to Nike, as the brand has done throwback jerseys for so many sports teams.

Outside of Miami, Georgia, Oregon, Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Texas and Clemson are all represented by Nike.
This is a good move for Miami off the field, and it looks like they’ve gotten back to their dominant ways over recent years on the field. Over two weeks, they look like a team that many don’t want to play, especially with the way they handled Florida A&M, defeating them 77-7.
Darian Mensah is playing lights out at the quarterback position, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in Heisman talks for the remainder of the season. Malachi Toney is making him look good as well, and after their win against Stanford, the wide receiver shared how it feels playing in the offense.
“It’s amazing man, every weekend we got, we just keep getting better,” Toney said. “The sky’s the limit. There’s no limit, actually.”
It’ll be interesting to see what Miami looks like as the season continues and if they’ll move up in the rankings.
