Tennessee football is getting no shortage of backfield talent next season.

The Vols, who rushed for 299 yards in a win over Georgia Tech on Saturday, had a pair of its 2027 commits run wild in Friday night action as the high school season nears the midway point. David Gabriel Georges put together one of his best performances of the season as he nears 1,000 yards in just four games, while his future running mate, Asa Barnes, did the unthinkable on limited touches.

Here’s a look at how future Vols performed in Week 4 of the high school season, as well as a look at a commit from the junior college ranks.

Five-star running back David Gabriel Georges (2027)

Tennessee’s multi-million dollar rusher put all his chips on the table in a top-25 national matchup at Trinity High School (Ky.).

Gabriel Georges carried the ball 26 times for 316 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-27 win. He hit 21.4 mph on a 75-yard touchdown run to give Baylor a third-quarter lead.

The five-star running back is up to 77 carries for 760 yards and seven touchdowns in just four games this season.

Three-star running back Asa Barnes (2027)

David Gabriel Georges’ future running mate spent his Friday night just as unstoppable. Literally.

The Vols’ West Tennessee commitment recorded five carries. He scored on all five. Barnes rushed for 164 yards in a 69-7 win over Obion County. Barnes played just two quarters of football in the blowout win.

Westview, under the signal-calling of four-star Graham Simpson and Barnes in the backfield, is 4-0 this season.

Three-star quarterback Derrick Baker (2027)

The Vols’ 2027 quarterback commit played Friday night in middle Tennessee.

Milton (Ga.) traveled to the defending Division II-AA state champions of Battle Ground Academy (Tenn.), who feature two top Tennessee receiving targets in Maximus Curry and Maddox Porter. Baker, however, got the best of the Tennesseans.

Milton won 42-21 in major part to Baker’s dual-threat performance. The three-star quarterback went 12-for-20 for 210 yards and three touchdowns through the air. He added 11 rushes for 116 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Four-star quarterback Kaden Craft (2028)

Tennessee’s signal-caller in the 2028 class utilized his legs more than his arms in another Lake Norman win.

Craft went 11-for-16 for 196 yards and a touchdown through the air. He added 11 rushes for 53 yards and a trio of scores on the ground.

Lake Norman won 48-7 to improve to 4-0 on the season. Craft again didn’t play the full game as his Wildcats have outscored opponents 179-14 this season. Craft has accounted for 14 total touchdowns.

Junior college defensive lineman Christian Mays (2027)

In an age where junior college recruiting is overlooked, Tennessee appears to have a gem committed from the JUCO ranks.

Mays, a 6-foot-5, 340-pound defensive tackle at Northeast Mississippi Community College, recorded four total tackles and two for a loss over the weekend. Mays is up to 10 tackles, three for a loss, and a forced fumble through three weeks.

The Tennessee pledge recently earned a Georgia offer as the Bulldogs look to push for the big-bodied lineman. Mays is a four-star recruit and the No. 2 overall JUCO player in the 2027 class.
