Hardy led the SEC in rushing during his first season with the Tigers and finished second in FBS with 1,649 yards. He was a consensus All-American and a first-team All-SEC selection.

The Missouri athletic program released a statement regarding Hardy’s status on X.

“A timeline for his return to football is unknown at this time. Mizzou Athletics will provide more information on his status when it becomes available.”

Rising star for Tigers

An Oma, Mississippi, native, Hardy transferred to Missouri from Louisiana-Monroe. In 2024 for the Warhawks, he rushed for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns.

His performance got even better after moving to the SEC. In 2025 for the Tigers, Hardy scored 16 touchdowns to go along with the 1,649 rushing yards. Jacksonville State’s Cam Cook gained 10 more yards than Hardy to win the FBS rushing title.

Hardy’s biggest game came on Nov. 15 against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He rushed for 300 yards on 25 carries and scored three times during a 49-27 victory.

Missouri finished 8-5, including 4-4 in the SEC. The Tigers fell to the Virginia Cavaliers, 13-7, in the Gator Bowl.
