Nebraska extends offer to four-star offensive tackle

Nebraska football extended an offer to 2028 four-star offensive tackle Kavon Blackmon. He made the announcement on social media.

Blackmon is the 28th overall offensive tackle in his class, and the seventh overall player in his class from the state of Ohio according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.

Blackmon has a stellar offer sheet that includes some of the top teams in the country. Ohio State, Louisville, Purdue, Michigan State, and Virginia Tech have all extended an offer his way. The Buckeyes have been his only visit to this point, and he did so on June 17.

Blackmon weighs in at six-foot-six, 270 pounds. Currently, the Huskers have zero commitments in the 2028 class. With that being said, the program has focused heavily on the offensive line in the past couple of classes.

The 2027 class alone has six offensive line commits.  Offensive line coach Geep Wade has completely remade the room, and blue-chip prospects are becoming increasingly common for the program.

It will be intriguing to see if the Huskers will be able to make any headway in Blackmon’s recruitment. Continuing to stockpile depth on the line is never a bad thing, and the program appears to be finding its footing there.
