Ole Miss football fans became loud in booing Lane Kiffin fiercely. The crowd inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium then erupted thanks to running back Kewan Lacy. He drained the energy from the LSU side with his early touchdown.
Lacy blew past one arm tackle, then kept his legs moving against two Tiger defenders before crossing the end zone.

That score covered five yards and placed Ole Miss ahead 10-0. Lacy even scored right in front of his former head coach. He chose to avoid dipping into the transfer portal and stayed loyal to Rebels head coach Pete Golding.
Kiffin received more than boos the moment he arrived to Oxford. Fans became relentless with their sign creativity in blasting Kiffin. But those same fans shouted vulgarities too even before Kiffin stepped out of the LSU team bus. A “f— Lane Kiffin” chant broke out during the live broadcast of ESPN College GameDay.
Yet LSU fans trolled with Ole Miss as well. One fan flew a banner over Oxford with a “Daddy’s back” statement that referred to Kiffin.
But the game swung toward the Rebels’ way during the first half. Ole Miss elevated the lead to 17-0 with former Kiffin quarterback Trinidad Chambliss hitting Traylon Ray for a 21-yard touchdown.
LSU put together a long drive before the two-minute warning arrived. Running back Dilin Jones punched the ball in to prevent the shutout, scoring from two yards out with 1:57 left before halftime. And Jones scored by taking the direct snap inside Ole Miss’s five-yard line to cut the lead to 17-7.
