The weekends for official visitors only get bigger and more important as June continues. The Oregon Ducks reeled in three commitments from last weekend’s round of visits and hope to find similar success this time around, with several high-profile targets expected on campus.

Multiple five-stars and a few Oregon commits will be in Eugene this weekend. The Ducks have some ground to make up for some of their top targets, but as the program has shown so far during the official visits, they can make plenty of progress in a hurry.

Here’s a look at which recruits are expected to be in Eugene this weekend, as well as where they rank in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

  • 5-star DL Marcus Fakatou (No. 31)
  • 5-star CB Hayden Stepp (No. 40)
  • 4-star WR Blake Wong (No. 263)
  • 4-star Ot Cameron Wagner (No. 293) (Oregon commit)
  • 4-star IOL Gus Corsair (No. 313) (Oregon commit)
  • 3-star TE Colton Johnson (No. 615)
  • 3-star EDGE Josh Christensen (No. 1,044)

It will be beneficial for the Ducks to get Gus Corsair and Cameron Wagner back on campus to lock in their commitments to the program. Corsair and Wagner both committed within days of each other in May and are the two highest-rated offensive linemen in Oregon’s class.

The big visitors this weekend are five-star defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou and five-star corner Hayden Stepp. The Ducks have some work to do in the race for both.

Fakatou is widely viewed as an Ohio State lean, having already taken an official visit to Columbus and building a strong relationship with the staff. Notre Dame is also a contender, but Fakatou did remark that his unofficial visit to Eugene was one of his favorite trips. It’s possible the Ducks could take another big leap, given how much Fakatou’s list of favorites has changed.

Stepp is a closer race for the Ducks. The Las Vegas product has been linked to Alabama for some time, and that could ultimately be where he lands. However, Oregon and Cal are working hard to keep Stepp out west. He already took an official visit to Tuscaloosa, so the Ducks must meet or raise the bar that has already been set.

Blake Wong is set to make his commitment on June 27, and the Ducks are battling against Ohio State and UCLA, where Wong took a surprise official visit last week. Oregon has a great shot at landing Wong after building a strong connection with Ross Douglas during earlier visits. It wouldn’t be a shock if the Ducks were the favorites for Wong after this weekend, but he will visit the Buckeyes next weekend.

Most of the visitors are locked in, but defensive lineman Kasi Currie was a late drop. The Ducks seemed to be in good standing with Currie after his visit during the spring game, but the momentum then flipped to Ohio State, potentially sticking with Fakatou, his teammate at Sierra Canyon. After being scheduled to visit this weekend, Currie committed to Texas on Thursday on the heels of a strong official visit in Austin.

Among the other visitors, the Ducks are in a good position with in-state edge rusher Josh Christensen, and that is shaping up to be a border war with Washington for his commitment. Colton Johnson is a bit of a wild card, with Tennessee and Alabama also in the mix. Oregon made a great impression on Johnson when he visited last month, so another strong visit could go a long way.
