The co-founder of Quality Control Music helped spearhead the careers of notable stars such as Lil Baby, Migos, City Girls and more.

Atlanta music mogul Pierre “P” Thomas, one of the figureheads behind acts such as Lil Baby, City Girls and others, is currently hospitalized after suffering a reported heart attack.

According to TMZ, Thomas, who co-founded Quality Control Music alongside Kevin “Coach K” Lee in 2013, was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital and remains there. Family and friends are with him as they pursue and consider next steps.

“Everyone keep P and his family in their thoughts and prayers and respectfully give them the privacy and space they need during this time,” the label said in a statement. “We deeply appreciate everyone’s concern, support, prayers, and loving energy right now.”

In the annals of Atlanta hip-hop, Quality Control might have boasted one of the more impressive rosters since So So Def. Over time, the label cultivated stars such as Migos, Lil Yachty, OG Maco, Layton Greene and Duke Deuce. The label also signed Cardi B to a management deal at one point before parting ways.

Behind Migos, Lil Baby and City Girls, the label emerged as a hit factory out of Atlanta, securing Grammy nominations and widespread acclaim, including an “Executives of the Year” honor from Billboard in 2018. In 2019, Lee and Thomas decided to open a boutique sports agency, Quality Control Sports.

“I learned what people did right and what people did wrong,” Lee said in a profile with The Atlanta Voice in 2019 regarding how he first navigated the music industry. “I learned how to use talent in ways that create platforms to make money and change lives.”

This is a developing story.
