Texas Longhorns predicted to lose 5-star WR to another SEC school

The Texas Longhorns have one of the best recruiting classes in the nation this cycle, led by multiple 5-star prospects like Ismael Camara and Easton Royal.

However, it appears that they may be in danger of losing one of those 5-star commits.

According to Rivals' Sam Spiegelman, 5-star WR Easton Royal is now being predicted to flip to the LSU Tigers, a rival SEC team. Royal, who stands at 5-foot-11, 215 pounds, and is rated as the No. 5 player in the 2027 class, is from New Orleans, LA, and plays at Brother Martin.

It's not hard to see why he would want to stay close to home, and why new Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin would be trying hard to get him to flip.

Royal is rated as the No. 1 WR in the class, and has been committed to Texas since November 29 of last year, the day before Kiffin officially accepted the LSU job. Royal took an official visit to Baton Rouge earlier this summer, but seemed to be locked in with the Longhorns after an OV to Austin not long after.

While there are still several months to go before signing day, this is going to be an important commitment to follow for Longhorns fans. Texas currently has the No. 6 class in the 2027 cycle, but they could fall out of the top 10 should they lose someone like Royal.
