One of the taller offensive tackles in the 2028 recruiting class added Washington to his growing list of offers earlier in May.
Keenon Verkerk, a 6-foot-8, 345-pound four-star offensive lineman from Dallas, Georgia, announced his offer from the Huskies on May 18, adding the Big Ten program to recent offers this spring from Ole Miss, Miami, South Carolina, and several other Power Four schools.
The sophomore Peach State product, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 326 overall prospect and No. 32 offensive tackle in the 2028 class by the 247Sports Composite, is exactly what you’d expect from an underclassman with his frame: small sample size, massive projectability.

His sophomore film doesn’t offer much in the way of what Verkerk will expect to face as a left tackle at the SEC or Big Ten level, but that doesn’t mean he can’t hold up against bigger and better competition.
With the 13th reported offensive tackle out to Verkerk earlier this month, it marks the eighth different state the UW staff has put offers out to at the position in the 2028 class. The addition of Georgia follows recruits from Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, New Jersey, Utah, and Washington, with Utah leading the way with four blue-chip tackle prospects holding an offer from the Huskies.
Several recruits from Georgia in the 2028 class have added offers from UW over the past month, which indicates the staff aims to continue making a serious push in the southern state, with the goal, outside of a verbal commitment or two, to get multiple targets on campus for visits to further make an impression with an expanding recruiting footprint.
