Where Auburn football's offense ranks in the SEC through Week 5

The Auburn Tigers dropped their most recent game to the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers and will be 3-2 heading into their bye week.

Auburn's offense has struggled to produce yards and points over its first five games. Auburn averages 27 points per game with a 14-point margin of victory in three wins this season, while scoring 26.5 points per game in its two losses, with a five-point margin of defeat.

Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown passed for over 200 yards in the Tigers' first three games, reaching a season-high of 271 yards in Auburn's Week 3 loss to Florida, but he has passed for under 160 yards in his last two games. Auburn's receivers have yet to turn in a 100-yard performance this season; Keshaun Singleton recorded 99 receiving yards in the Week 3 game against Florida, and led the Tigers in receiving in three different games.

Rushing-wise, Auburn has three players with over 200 rushing yards this season, and two players have turned in 100-yard rushing games; Omar Mabson had 108 yards in Auburn's Week 2 win over Southern Miss, and Byrum Brown most recently ran for 107 in the Tigers' Week 5 loss to Tennessee.

The Tigers have fought tough battles through the first five weeks of the season, and are ready to hit pause ahead of their challenging final seven games on the schedule. Here is where Auburn ranks among its SEC rivals in every major offensive category through Week 5.

Offensive yards per game: No. 11

Auburn's offense produces just under 400 total yards per game, at 399.8, which is more than Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and No. 1 Texas.

Auburn football rushes for 180 yards per game, putting them in the middle of the pack among the SEC. Three players have rushed for over 200 yards this season, led by quarterback Byrum Brown's 344-yard output. Brown is followed by Jeremiah Cobb (245) and Omar Mabson (213).

Auburn will enter the bye week with seven rushing scores. Byrum Brown leads the way with 4, followed by Jeremiah Cobb (2) and Omar Mabson (1). Half of the SEC has yet to score 10 rushing touchdowns through five weeks.

Passing yards per game: No. 14

All but two teams in the SEC pass for over 200 yards per game, with Auburn bringing up the rear of that category with 219.8 passing yards per game. Quarterback Byrum Brown eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in passing during Auburn's Week 5 loss to Tennessee and ranks No. 9 in the SEC with 1,055 yards. He leads several notable SEC quarterbacks, including Texas' Arch Manning, Oklahoma's John Mateer, and Texas A&M's Marcel Reed.

Auburn football has eight passing touchdowns this season, with Chas Nimrod and DeShawn Spencer accounting for half of them. The Tigers are tied with Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Tennessee with eight passing touchdowns on the season.

Interceptions: No. 1

This is a category Auburn did not want to lead. Auburn quarterbacks have thrown seven interceptions through five games, tying LSU for the most in the SEC. Tennessee threw its first interception of the season last week when Auburn linebacker Xavier Atkins picked off Tennessee's Faizon Brandon in the second quarter. Because of this, Missouri is the only team in the SEC not to throw an interception in 2026.

Points have been hard to come by for the Auburn Tigers so far this season, as they have scored 21 or more points in just three of their five games. Auburn's low scoring output (26.8 points per game) ranks No. 13 in the SEC ahead of Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

Auburn is one of 12 SEC teams to have an offensive grade of 70.0 or higher, according to Pro Football Focus. The Tigers have an offensive grade of 71.2, with their strongest suit this season being their run game (81.7).
