Nebraska ground out a 34-7 victory last week over visiting North Dakota from the FCS, behind 119 yards and two rushing touchdowns from Jamal Rule. Anthony Colandrea threw for 195 yards and a score while also getting into the end zone on the ground, and the Husker defense held the Fighting Hawks to 205 yards of total offense, getting five sacks on the night.
Michigan State took its first loss of the season last week, falling 27-10 at No. 3 Notre Dame. Cam Fancher’s 15-yard TD run late in the game closed the Spartans’ gap to 17-10, but they could not get any closer. Alessio Milivojevic finished 9-of-17 for 123 yards and threw two interceptions while Michigan State gained just 44 yards on the ground and 167 overall. Rodney Bullard Jr. caught two passes for 66 yards.
The Cornhuskers hold a 10-4 lead over the Spartans in the all-time series after a 38-27 win at home last season. Rule comes in with 329 rushing yards and five touchdowns for Nebraska, while Colandrea has thrown for 692 yards with eight scores and one pick. Kwazi Gilmer has three TD receptions, and Jacory Barney Jr. enters the game with 15 catches for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Cam Edwards paces Michigan State with 288 yards and three scores on the ground, with Milivojevic checking in with 540 yards, three TDs, and two interceptions through the air. Bullard leads the receiving corps with 182 yards and a touchdown on 12 catches.
