The Ole Miss football team is in action on Saturday against LSU. Ole Miss is dealing with a key injury before the game to an offensive lineman.
“Ole Miss upgraded offensive lineman Tommy Kinsler to probable on Friday night, and he is expected to be a game-time decision,” On3’s Pete Nakos posted to X, formerly Twitter.
Kinsler will be expected to help block for Ole Miss star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. The Rebels are undefeated and looking to defeat their former head coach, Lane Kiffin. Kiffin famously left Ole Miss for LSU, ahead of the 2025 season’s College Football Playoff.

LSU also enters the game Saturday undefeated on the season.
Ole Miss and LSU have a lot in common
Kiffin is very familiar with the Ole Miss coaching staff. His former defensive coordinator Pete Golding is now the Rebels’ head coach. Golding has had to switch some things up, to make sure LSU doesn’t know the Ole Miss game plan.
“You don’t always change every signal. Going into this season, we did,” Golding said ahead of the game Saturday on ESPN’s College GameDay show.
Ole Miss fans are booing Kiffin on Saturday. The emotions are clearly high before this big matchup. Both Ole Miss and LSU enter the game ranked, with expectations to reach the CFP.
Golding is impressed with what he sees on tape from LSU.
“Obviously there’s a lot of similarities and you can see their bread and butter and what they believed in for a long time. There are a lot of new pieces to it. So in year one of that transition, I think that you haven’t seen the whole menu,” Golding said, per USA Today.
Before heading to Baton Rouge, Kiffin coached at Ole Miss from 2020-2025. He turned the Rebels back into an SEC power. During the 2025 season, Ole Miss went to the CFP with Kiffin and then Golding as the program’s respective head coaches.
During the 2026 season so far, Ole Miss has victories over Louisville and Charlotte.
