Texas A&M receives one vote in latest US LBM Coaches Poll

Texas A&M ended its two-game skid in SEC play after defeating Arkansas 34-7 on Saturday night, as the celebration of the university's 150-year existence was a success, especially watching freshman running back KJ Edwards' breakout performance, rushing for 66 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.

This week's focus was to establish the run and keep starting quarterback Marcel Reed clean in the pocket, as six players combined for 49 carries, including Reed, who rushed for 66 yards and a score. On defense, sophomore Edge Marco Jones made a significant impact, recording the team's lone sack and six pressures, finally living up to his lofty preseason expectations.

The Aggie secondary was equally impressive, limiting Arkansas QB KJ Jackson to 111 passing yards, one touchdown, and an interception, while former A&M wide receiver Chris Marshall was the only player to make an impact, recording a game-high seven receptions for 76 yards and his 26-yard touchdown reception.

Holding Arkansas to just 214 yards and seven points, which are season lows for the program, is notable, no matter the opponent, and serves as momentum before the Aggies face a tough Missouri team in Columbia next Saturday afternoon.

Around the rest of the SEC, Missouri's blowout 45-17 home win over No. 8 Florida was shocking, to say the least, while Alabama and Georgia continue to look like the best teams in the SEC outside of Texas, which was off this week. Kentucky has yet to lose after defeating Texas A&M in Kyle Field, beating South Carolina 35-34 in OT.

Texas A&M didn't, and won't, make it back into the US LBM Coaches Poll unless the Aggies pull off an unthinkable winning streak, and received just one vote in the latest poll.
